The Republic of France is a capitalist nation in western Europe. France borders the Atlantic Ocean to the west, English Channel to the north, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy to the east, the Mediterranean to the south, Andorra and Spain to the south west.

The Republic of France has several territories directly under the administration of the Ministry of Overseas France. The following territories are governed by the Ministry of Overseas France, either locally or directly from Paris;

The Indochinese Federation is governed out of Hanoi, where it has a democratically elected chamber which votes on policies given by the Ministry of Overseas France on behalf of the Governor General. French West Africa is governed directly by the Minister of Overseas France, though day to day running of the territory is handed to executive staff in Dakar, Senegal. Algeria is a region of the Republic of France, and participates in national elections. French Equatorial Africa is governed in a similar way to French West Africa, with the capital of Brazzaville.
